The brand new version of iBreviary TS for Android is now available

The new, completely redesigned version of iBreviary TS for smartphones and tablets is now available on Google Play Store.

The version has been completely redesigned to match the Apple version, and from now on it will finally be constantly updated, corrected and improved with many new features.

The main new features include:

A new, more complete and organised graphic layout containing the following buttons:

1) “PRAY” – Allows you to access the menu for choosing between the Liturgy of the Hours, Missal, etc.

2) “TODAY” – Allows you to download all the texts for the current day.

3) NOTIFICATIONS – Allows you to view new or unread notifications.

4) INFORMATION – Allows you to view guides on how to use the app, liturgical instructions, credits and contacts.

5) SETTINGS – Allows you to access the “Settings” menu, detailed description below.

6) “MY SPIRITUAL BOOK” – Allows you to access the spiritual diary. The guide to this tool is available in the “INFORMATION ” menu.

7) “OWN TEXTS” – Allows you to activate the display of texts belonging to different religious orders in different languages.

8) Allows you to change the language of the current day.

9) “DAY MANAGEMENT” – Allows you to access the “Day Management” menu, detailed description below.

SETTINGS MENU

1) “Default text language” – Allows you to change the language of downloaded texts.

2) “Prefer book mode” – When activated, displays pages as if you were leafing through the paper version.

3) “Text styles” – Allows you to change style settings for text type, size, etc.

4) 'Background brightness' – Allows you to adjust the brightness of the background from parchment colour to white.

5) “Text reading” – When enabled, a speaker icon appears in the Liturgical Hour section which, when pressed, activates the device to read the text using the speech synthesiser.

6) 'Auto-scroll' – Enables automatic scrolling down the screen without having to interact with your fingers

1) “FULL SCREEN MODE” – Removes the top and bottom command bars.

 

2) “TEXT READING” – Appears when activated in the “Settings” menu.

 

3) 'BOOK MODE' – Appears when activated in the “Settings” menu and allows you to scroll through the text by swiping your finger to the left.

“DAY MANAGEMENT” MENU


1) “AUTOMATICALLY DOWNLOAD EACH NEW DAY” – When activated, automatically downloads the next day after midnight.


2) “YESTERDAY'S COMPLETE” – If activated, it automatically downloads the previous day's complete.


3) “ALWAYS SHOW THE FOUR WEEKS PSALTER” – If activated, even in the presence of a memorial, feast or solemnity, it allows you to view the Liturgy of the Hours of the Psalter, in addition to the texts specific to the liturgical celebration.

 

SCROLL DOWN THE MENU and you'll also find:

- "Download Day" to download the day you select above, in the language you choose.

- "Download Week" to download the entire week in the language you choose above.

In the AVAILABLE DAYS section, you can manage the downloaded days:

- View the day you select.

- Delete it individually.

- Delete all days.

1) “SLIDER” – These two dots indicate that the “Always show the Four Weeks Psalter” mode is active; by sliding your finger to the left, you can view the texts of the Psalter and not those of the liturgical feast

 

As with any change, it will take time to get used to, but we are confident that the big step taken today will be appreciated and understood by all of you, especially considering that the previous version, with each release of the Android operating system, became increasingly obsolete as it could no longer be updated.
